Program Overview
Duration: Six months (August 2025 – January 2026)
Location: SyntecBiofuel R&D Center, Seoul, South Korea (hybrid options available)
Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate students in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields
Cohort Size: 10–12 interns, fostering close mentorship and collaborative projects
What You’ll Do
Hands-On R&D Projects
Participate in microbial strain engineering for enhanced biofuel yield
Conduct pilot-scale fermentation trials and analyze process data
Work alongside our senior scientists to optimize waste-to-energy pathways
Data Analysis & Modeling
Use Python and MATLAB to interpret fermentation kinetics and metabolic flux
Build digital models (“digital twins”) to predict scale-up performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the Process Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to ensure regulatory compliance
Present findings in weekly lab meetings and participate in joint problem-solving sessions
Professional Development
Attend skill-building workshops on scientific communication, project management, and patent filing
Receive one-on-one mentorship from industry experts and SyntecBiofuel leadership
